Boys will be Boys!

Part of being a kid is being crazy and daring and sometimes not really using your head (I guess I still find myself in that category sometimes- the not using your head part-, hence the picture below of Kobe without a bike helmet on. Sometimes I'm all about getting a good picture and forget about the whole safety part).
Ever since Kobe was little he has been crazy on a bike. It all started out with a little wooden trike that you push with your feet. At 1 1/2 years he was riding this thing down the neighbors driveway with his feet in the air. It's a pretty steep hill for a 1 year old. He really made me nervous but I kept watching and cringing in awe. I couldn't believe how that kid had No fear! That bike got so hammered! So much so, we had to throw it away!

Next he got a two wheeler. He road that thing for a short time with the training wheels and quickly decided that he could keep up better with the bigger kids if he had no training wheels at all. Those puppies came off at age three. This bike also got pretty hammered. He loved going as fast as he could and then slamming on the brakes leaving a sweet skid mark! Little did I know that tires cost just as much as a bike so when the tires were made up of more patches than the normal tire itself, we went to get him a new bike.

He got his new bike last summer and he totally loves it! He must think that because it's a Tony Hawk it comes with magical powers that automatically allow him to do killer tricks! He loves coming to get me from the house and having me watch him do his new tricks.
For Christmas Santa brought him a skateboard and a ramp. He uses the ramp more for jumping his bike. He sets it up in the middle of our circle and all the neighborhood kids ride their bikes and scooters over it. He's always trying to see how much "Air" he can get. He talks about how when he gets older he'll be able to do back flips on his bike. Maybe if I remember to remind him to put his helmet on he'll make it to that point with out breaking his neck. He's definitely our little dare devil!!

Keeping us on our toes!

Imagine a 16 pound er climbing on everything. That is Kylee all of a sudden, and I think I'm going to have a little girl with a broken head soon. She climbs up on the kitchen chairs and then up on the table where she likes to jump around and twirl like she's dancing. I've tried turning the chairs upside down but the tops of them are rounded so that's an accident waiting to happen. I really have to watch this girl! But I do have to say she sure makes me smile, even if she's a little mischievous!

She has also found something she loves....A BINKY!!!! She has never once taken a Binky. Believe me there were so many times I wished I could pop a Binky in her mouth. Now she is 17 months old and wants a Binky??? Oh no! Sorry Kylee..... but I'm afraid as much as I love peace and quiet sometimes, your a little late on the whole Binky thing.
